End of an Era; Beginning of a new Chapter

So it is confirmed. Frank Rijkaard reign at Camp Nou has officially ended, well technically he has two more games in charge but who's counting? While, Rijkaard departure is never in doubt, the choice of his successor is a straight fight between Getafe's and ex-Barca player Michael Laundrup and another Barca legend cum ex-captain, Pep Guardiola. Personally, I was hoping for 'the special one' but it seems the Barca board is quite lukewarm to this possibility.

Anyway, Captain Marvel has emerged winner in this clear shoutout. The task ahead of him might not be so enviable thought. Rebuilding Barca is no easy task. It takes nearly 5 years of rebuilding before Barcelona were able to reach the summit of La Liga and Europe again. In brevity, since the 90's there are three golden periods; the Cruyft 90-94, Van Gaal 97-99 and of course the latest Rijkaard 04-06. Notice the Dutch connection!!!

Pep must instil confidence and self-belief to his team. Truth to be told, Barca defend woefully these past two seasons. Crap defence and an unreliable custodian. The only saving grace for this campaign is the emergence of Iniesta, Yaya Toure and to some extend, Bojan Krkic. If Pepe can somehow rejuvinate Ronaldinho and get a few decent signings in, then I think there is still hope for us next season.

Forza Barca, Forza Catalonia.

Satu Lagi Projek oleh Barisan Nasional

Just pick this story up from RPK Malaysia-today.
http://www.malaysia-today.net/2008/content/view/6845/84/

It seems that these dungun never learn a thing. Maybe they know their time is near and better start gobble up as much as Rakyat money before the house crumble. 5 million to built a stupid walkway that can't even offer protection from the rain. Apa guna ni?

Parliament Questions Time - Day One

Just finish watching our first RTM-telecast Parliament Questions Time and I have to say this is far more entertaining then a lot of Malaysia-produced drama. Whilst it was supposed to air from 10:00 - 10:30, it actually stretches to 10:42. The star of the show today is definitely the Speaker, Pandikar Amin, as he disallowed a supplementary question for the first time in Parliament history!!!! YB Lim Kit Siang rightly pointed out if that is the case, then Ministers need no bother to turn up at the August House since they do not need to answer any oral questions anymore!!
Such moronic action cause an uproar in the house and was only contained by PM Badawi 'nice' gesture of accepting satu atau dua soalan from the floor.
Malulah Mr.Speaker. Next time, think before you want to be a hero for your boss...

Barca need R10!!

Barcelona painful display last night against Manchester United reiterate my point that we simply cannot function as an effective offensive force without the talented Ronaldinho.
1 goal in the last five matches and winless in the last six games is no statistic a club like Barca can be proud or even associated with. In the absence of Ronnie on the left the supposed well-cog machine simply broke down in the final third of the opponent's half as there is no one who can play that deft touch which slice open the defence.
No Ronnie also means freekick are wasted with no able person to step up and take the responsibility. Bottomline, Barcelona cannot let Ronaldinho leave and Rijkaard is certainly welcome to exit from Nou Camp.
Barca season is truly over and damn I am still sour over it.

Barcelona meeting with the Red Devils

As a devoted Barca fan, I have to confess things are not looking good at Camp Nou now. Players morale is obviously at a low and we couldn't have pick a worse time to face the devils.

To make matter worse, we will have to do it without our captain, Puyol who is suspended for the first leg. With the likes of C.Ronaldo, Rooney and Messi on show, I sure hope these two-legs will be a football feast for the fans.

Underdogs we may be, but if Hillary Clinton is still in the race, why can't we?

Old man Keng Yaik

We sure miss him don't we?

Our former Beruas MP cum Energy & Telco Minister cum President of Gerakan entertained us once again with his 'kawai' attic when asked to comment on Lee Kah Choon's directorship appointment to the Penang Development Corporation (PDC) and InvestPenang.

Never once shy to 'rain' his comment to his reporters audience, the old man perfected the art of sarcasm when he wished Lee 'best of luck'. Come on, KY, we all know you are boiling inside, why not just let it erupt? It is not healthy to keep your anger inside.

He further suggested that Lee's appointment is a sign that DAP or PR is bereft of talents and is forced to headhunt talent from Gerakan. Too many parachute candidates, that's what he said. As I was watching him pouring our his comments at TV3, I couldn't stop laughing at the words that came out from his mouth. He harped on how he pitied Lee for being a suspicious character in both camps. He still can't get it.

It's clear that the PR government is marching towards a new form of democratic rule of governance whereby talent would be appreciated and utilized regardless of party partisan. I also read that Penang exco Phee Boon Poh will be inviting his 'UMNO shadow' to the commitee so that the same can be updated with the various state government's policy. This should be the way, and i hope all PR governments will emulate Phee's suggestion. If you have nothing to hide, you shouldn't be scared of any skeleton.

Old man KY still refuses to concede and worse understand why the people of Penang have rejected Barisan's form of government.

Nevertheless minus the substance of his speech, we Malaysians will surely miss this colourful character in our political arena. For pure entertainment value, I think he should make a comeback and contest in Penang against LGE. That I guarantee is political entertainment at its best.
